Gearing Up For Baby?

I've been thinking a lot about the things we need to re-use versus the things we need to buy in order to get baby's room ready. The big items (crib, changing table, bouncy seat, etc.) are in the attic and simply need to be moved down here to the second floor. We even have boxes and sacks of toys, books and stuffed animals that we saved from when the mini was a baby. Of course, I have to go and buy things like a new diaper bag, a new baby book and various and sundry other small items. They don't seem like much thought should go into them, or much money, but when I list everything out, I get a sick feeling in my stomach. We need to spend how much? And, of course, we still haven't cleaned out the room or repainted it. Not to mention that I'm planning to refurbish an armoir that we already have in order to update it for a boy - there's no closet in his room, so we have to "make" hanging space. I know I'm only in my sixth month, but considering that we delivered the mini almost 2 months early I think maybe I need to get moving on this since I'm more than likely working on a relatively short time frame right now. And even though I haven't been doing more than thinking about it lately and still haven't felt any real urgency to act, I'm hoping to get it done by the end of February. I think I might be feeling a little bit overwhelmed and therefore putting it off hoping it gets done by itself. Yeah, that'll happen. Anyway, we're supposed to go and pick up our new nursery chair at the baby furniture store tomorrow. Maybe that will give us the push we need in order to get baby boy's room in order. Wish us luck!

All things in due time, don't stress out, he won't care (or notice) if his room isn't "done" when he is! I'm sure it will be lovely when you are finished and am so glad that you are re-using what you have instead of consuming more. I always used a regular backpack instead of a diaper bag which was nice to grab and have my hands free plus hubby didn't mind carrying it.
